Trash the Dress

Keira Knightley was in the news recently after her best friend spilt red wine on her wedding dress. Luckily for her, it didn’t actually happen on her wedding day, but sometime after when she rewore the dress to a Gala. Even so, she must have been a bit gutted, right?

Well, apparently not. Kiera was happy she’d had a great time in her dress and that she got to wear it a few times before it was ruined.

Although Kiera’s incident wasn’t planned, more and more brides every year are partaking in the ‘Trash the Dress’ wedding trend, and photographers are cashing in on it, offering glossy photoshoots in unusual locations. Water, mud, paint, and even fire have been used to trash the dress beyond all recognition, in an attempt to create a stunning piece of art. For some women it’s a symbol of devotion to their husband, as the dress can never be worn again. For others, it’s just a fun day out and a chance to express themselves and their creativity.

So, what are your thoughts? Is it a crazy or a cool idea? Would you ever destroy something so beautiful?
